Recently it was brought to our attention that a fraudulent spam emails were sent intentionally to unsolicited distribution, implicating the registrant of CASINOTITAN.COM as the sender of these messages.

These actions are commonl known as a "Joe Job" and is unfortunately becoming a common tactic used by spammers and competitors. A "Joe Job" is the act of forging a spam advertisement so that it appears to be from an innocent third party.

The signature characteristic of a "Joe Job" is that the fields of the e-mail have been modified so that it looks as if a third party has sent the mail. The reason that these unscrupulous individuals are resorting to this tactic is because they are trying to conceal their identity and/or deflect the responsibility to an innocent party.

The term "Joe Job" originated from an attack on Joe Doll, proprietor of Joe's CyberPost (http://www.joes.com). The recipients of the forged e-mail messages, believing Doll had sent the spam, retaliated by attacking joes.com and disabling Joe's CyberPost for over 10 days. Hence the term "Joe Job" was coined.
